They say nothing is healthier for the mind and body than physical labor - especially if you can hold the fruits of it in your hands and store it in your kitchen. Whatever cruelties you have witnessed or endured in the past week, your fields need tending to and they reward you with as quick as harvest as always.

Um ... I don't really get it either, probably because I haven't watched the movie, but marriage is... usually supposed to be about two people who want to be together forever. I think? And the wedding is like... a party, or ceremony to formalize that.

So I guess... if it's two people who aren't meant to be with each other for that long, or who just ... don't work with each other, then it can be sad. But... it's not supposed to be.

That would make sense. Spending your life with someone who makes you unhappy seems a bit pointless if marriage is nothing more than a sign that you've bound yourself to another person.

[She pauses to run her fang against her lip, thinking about what Vayne said. Marriage is for someone you want to be with forever. What kind of forever is she able to give Noah? Would he be happier if he found someone who could give him more than that?

Mio, though...she doesn't need forever. She needs him to know what she's feeling now.]

I think my feelings and how strong they are would be the same either way. If this is how to set them into stone, then... we should give it our best.

["Forever" isn't as far out of reach as Mio might think. After all, don't they know a few people for which eternity is the norm? People who live more than ten terms, more than twenty, more than a hundred. People who hold fate in their hands.

Their friends will come to hate him for his betrayal, surely, but so be it. She deserves that eternity. Only Mio's forgiveness matters.]

My feelings won't ever change. [HM,] So if this is what it takes to return to where we belong, we'll do it. No matter the cost.

She doesn't know what's on his mind, though she knows he's hurt by something her hands can't reach to heal. Hopefully, the things they've shared up until this point will still be able to get through to him. Mio leans forward, hands braced on her dog plushie.]

And mine. I meant it. But what is the cost? If it's as simple as they say - if we'll just be linked together - we already have all that, don't we? It's what we have right now.

[The cost is something she won't accept without a fight. Still, smallest of small mercies, he'll at least tell her his plan before putting it onto motion. He won't rob her of her choice in the matter.]

It's much more than that. "Forever," they said. To carry on into eternity... I doubt this place has the means by which we can achieve that.
