WEEK THREE
WEEK THREE
19 Villagers
They say nothing is healthier for the mind and body than physical labor - especially if you can hold the fruits of it in your hands and store it in your kitchen. Whatever cruelties you have witnessed or endured in the past week, your fields need tending to and they reward you with as quick as harvest as always.
If drowning your grief in work is not enough for you, there are new spots to explore in Puffin Town. Allow the novelty to distract you from your dwindling numbers!
Always remember, the value of a community is not measured by it's size.
(( OOC: Murder proposals are due by Tuesday at 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST for this final week! Get your bloodthirst in or forever hold your peace! Gift submission is still open as well!
If your character has been planting Astera, here's a reminder to report it at the Astera tracker - this does not need to have been threaded, we're just taking stock on an OOC level.))

I'll do my best. I've never learned how to dance, not like this, so we'll probably be on even footing.
[ He smiles, just a little, as he puts his hands on her shoulders. Dances and events like this were always a drag for him, so this is definitely new. ]

[Her sly, catlike grin loses some of the impact with the shiner and cracked forehead, but it's a rare moment of sass she can't resist regardless. Mio's hands move to his elbows.]
Why do you think we do things like this? [She begins to lead them ever-so-carefully to the rhythm of the song, something like a light little two-step.]

Besides, her bit of sass is enough for him to not mind the dancing part of all of this. ]
To grow closer, I suppose. Connection?
no subject
But what makes the connections we forge here meaningful is the memories that accompany them, right? Doesn't something about that seem weird?
[This will all "vanish like fog."]

[ He looks down at the ground, at their feet, even though that makes him a terrible dance partner. ]
I'm not sure what to think of it all.

Those fliers we keep seeing look so old. When we first got here, I thought it meant they were trying to convince us that this had been going on for a long while. But now that we know what Adela believes... [Mio trails off. She's clearly still smarting a little bit from that lesson learned.]

I had thought that her heart was in the right place, even though I found her strange. But it seems like she's determined to get exactly what she wants, and what we want doesn't matter.
[ He thinks that it never did. ]

I tried to get through to her, but it was like my words were always going up against a wall. She only wants to look in one direction. I can't decide if she really thinks she's helping us or not.

It really is an almost childish dance, but it's not one that Kurapika minds much. There's something sweetly sentimental about it, something that coils in his chest and makes him miss his friends that much more. ]
She might. Some people think that what they want is best for everyone else, no matter what they might say, because they know what's best. Of course, that's not always true.
[ Such as in this case. ]

Kurapika can get spun, though, if he's willing to twist and duck under her arm with the flourish.]
I think she's used to people not disagreeing with her, maybe...or not being able to. [It isn't the first time that Adela has reminded her somewhat of a Consul, though she'd always hoped she'd be different from them in the end.] When I think about what she said - that she's setting us free - I shudder to think of her final move.
