WEEK TWO

23 Villagers

Three people have fallen and a tower has risen. Along with it, some of the restraints on your mind have dispersed and a memory has returned to you - is it precious, is it painful? Is it cherished, is it loathed?

Mercilessly, dawn breaks on another morning. The rooster still calls, and the crops still need tending to. Rise and shine, Puffin Town! It seems like the residents are not the only thing that has chosen to rise, as a few more establishments have opened up for exploration. The sound of moo-ing near the farms may feel especially inviting here - how about making some new additions to your farms, to drown out your loneliness?

There is no festival just yet but if you question the ducks on it, some excited quacking will herald fun things to come later in the week. Some of the ducks will also wave the gift notes from last week; regardless of murder, being kind to your neighbors is still encouraged! Can't let our beautiful town sink into gloom and doom, right?

(( OOC: Murder proposals are due by Tuesday at 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST, for the current week's murder, but feel free to submit for later weeks if you like!

We have also added a page to report your Astera planting - this does not need to have been threaded, we're just taking stock on an OOC level.

Further, the Gift Mechanic has been updated. All turned in threads will now yield a character specific item as a reward! We're only dipping into the random gacha once all personalized rewards have been given out.))

...Chocobos? Are those some type of bird?

Man, remembering this whole different worlds thing is hard. [ Talking ducks and murder seems more normal over people not knowing chocobos apparently ]

They are like really freaking huge birds you can ride on. Think like these but much more cuter.

It's alright, take as much time as you need.

[ To remember?? Or something. ]

...I wish they had chocobos here too. They sound really cute. Oh, wait, but if they're similar, maybe I can paint them if they really look the same big bigger.

[ And cuter. That's important too. ]

Maybe they will get them eventually? This place keeps getting bigger for some reason.

[ Magic pocket space or something ] So you can paint? As in with a brush and all?

[ Enkidu's smile is a little serene, fitting with the topic as they imagine potential prospects of what chocobos might look like. ]

I suppose it isn't impossible. Though, it might be that this place was always larger than we might have imagined.

But, yes, I can. Sora gave me pointers on how, and I have decided to keep up my efforts.

It's like some weird as hell dimensional gate or something. Like Eidolons or Moglin, but with places instead.

[ It's something he knows is possible, but making sense of it is beyond him. ]

Yeah? Were you two close or something?

I don't know what either of those two are.

[ They say pointedly. But are curious... ]

...Not too close, I'd think. But I was beginning to think we were friends, or starting somewhere towards that.

Eidolons are these summons you could use to help out in fight, yo. They use up life force to use, so normally we're pretty restricted in using them.

[ Wow he actually knows a thing. ] Moglin is this flying fuzzy creature that helps out in the class, yo. They help with mission briefings and I think they are something like Eidolons but no one really knows. They are just there and helping out around Akademia.

[ They can get back to Sora in a moment ]

Those sounds dangerous. I hope you haven't had to use them at all.

[ Enkidu can understand why they might be needed; a big fight being a thing and all. ]

...It's too bad you don't have an image of what this Moglin looks like. I'd be curious to view its appearance.

[ Really! Alas, Enkidu has no access to Moglin pics or literature (?) ]

We only use them when we really have to, yo. It's fine though. Normally we're brought back after it.

[ Like it's nbd. It's fine ]

[ Enkidu doesn't realize he might mean something else...

But at the offer, they look definitely interested. ]

If you could, I'd like that. I think there's a lot of art materials hanging around so yo won't have too much trouble getting what you need.

Huh? What do you mean brought back to home? [ What is even a home ]

Yeah? I haven't really gotten a chance to look around. [ His name is ~~Ken~~ Nine and he only knows beach and food places. ]

Isn't that what you meant? You'd get brought back home, since your life force would be drained?

[ That is so sad, he needs to be informed what a home is, stat!

They look at him curiously at that, however. ]

You haven't? Want me to guide you around?

[ ~~Ken~~ Nine please, the world is your oyster! ... Or something. Anyway they hold out their hand to him and wiggle the fingers just for fun. ]

[ They are making him think on that before he waves a hand as if brushing off a thought. ] Not really sure if I'd call Akademeia home or anything like that. [ This is once again hammering in that what's common in his world isn't really in other worlds. ]

That wasn't what I meant though. Usually you die when you use 'em.

[ He doesn't really think about it as he reaches to take the hand until the finger wiggling. Then he'll huff out an amused sound before taking it. Not going to admit that he gets lost pretty easily. ]

Wouldn't say no to a pretty face. Guide away, yo.

[ That sure is a response that gets them a little confused. ]

Akademeia is not home, but...where is your actual home, then?

[ Enkidu sounds a little perturbed, but all the same, they begin to guide him towards the general store! Flashing a little smile at the compliment too for a moment, before keeping their steps light, despite the severity of their earlier question, though it does peel away afterwards as they engage in a bit of thought. ]

Haven't really thought about it, yo. Not really sure what even counts as home.

[ Wasn't ever something they could have thought about before.

Cool. Uh. [ There's a moment because he's trying to actively remember how to get there. ] What's your favorite place to go to anyways?

I'd say the beach for now? There's something nice about it, and almost really freeing to stand on the coast itself. To feel the air against your skin, and run around barefooted...

What about yourself?

[ Don't worry about not remembering since Enkidu will guide them there themselves. ]

That would be the External Branch of the Sorcery Division, yo. It was on a smaller island not that far from Akademeia. [ Though it feels like it.

He'll swing hands with them. Offering a grin at something Enkidu said. ]

Aren't you always barefooted? [ There's a note of teasing at that. ] Think the beach is probably the best place, yo. Rubrum is practically surrounded by beaches.

Really? That sounds like a research location...or something? But if you were born there, then I guess that might be your original home.

[ Maybe, they don't know for sure, though.

Though they give Nine a look before pouting a little at that. ]

Oh hey, you're pretty sharp, yo. Not that it's surprising or anything. [ They got it though. ] Wasn't born there, but can't really remember anything about my home before I was brought there.

[ Is it worrying how normal he makes that sound?

Anyways, he'll give a light snicker as he nudges them lightly. ]

[ They can stand to get more praises to their ego...I mean what. ]

That sounds a little odd, though. Not to remember much about your home. Something must have happened.

[ That's what they think at least...and then they playfully nudge him back, acting falsely all put out just for funsies. ]

I don't know if I believe you.

Yeah, I mean you seem to catch quite a bit here. [ Like at the trial and whenever people are putting their thinking caps on. ]

It used to bother me, but I decided it's better off not worrying about it, you know? Besides, losing memories isn't really anything weird for me. [ He remembers the people who are no longer with them here so he knows it's another his world only thing ]

[ Enkidu beams at the added on praise. ]

I can see why you'd like not to worry. Though, losing memories isn't good. I'd prefer if it doesn't happen again, since without those it makes it easier for people to be controlled. Even if...you're new to it? Could you explain?

[ They prod at it a bit because of the way he mentioned it, and as for the rest, Enkidu playfully smiles at him. ]
