WEEK TWO

23 Villagers

Three people have fallen and a tower has risen. Along with it, some of the restraints on your mind have dispersed and a memory has returned to you - is it precious, is it painful? Is it cherished, is it loathed?

Mercilessly, dawn breaks on another morning. The rooster still calls, and the crops still need tending to. Rise and shine, Puffin Town! It seems like the residents are not the only thing that has chosen to rise, as a few more establishments have opened up for exploration. The sound of moo-ing near the farms may feel especially inviting here - how about making some new additions to your farms, to drown out your loneliness?

There is no festival just yet but if you question the ducks on it, some excited quacking will herald fun things to come later in the week. Some of the ducks will also wave the gift notes from last week; regardless of murder, being kind to your neighbors is still encouraged! Can't let our beautiful town sink into gloom and doom, right?

(( OOC: Murder proposals are due by Tuesday at 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST, for the current week's murder, but feel free to submit for later weeks if you like!

We have also added a page to report your Astera planting - this does not need to have been threaded, we're just taking stock on an OOC level.

Further, the Gift Mechanic has been updated. All turned in threads will now yield a character specific item as a reward! We're only dipping into the random gacha once all personalized rewards have been given out.))

but anyway he examines the sketch she draws on the notebook, and... huh. ]

That's... it'd like be a throwing weapon of some sort, right? Sharp edge on the outside? I could probably do something like it, but you're right, unless it's alloyed with something, copper by itself is kind of soft...

[ he'd have to refine it into red steel first for something more practical, but given how the books in the alchemy lab seem to have been so far, he's not entirely convinced that if he tried here he wouldn't just end up with an explosive concoction of some sort shaped like a bar of red steel. nevermind how the rest of anything doesn't seem to be working right at the moment. ]

I can do it with the copper at the blacksmith, if you want. Or, um, if you can find something better in the mines I might be able to work with that instead?

[ he'd been thinking about making another trip to look for clues anyway, even though the first trip was pretty uneventful. ]

That's right! I'm pretty good with those. Since there are many monsters out in the wild going out of the village without something to fight is silly, so I was taught to use these.

I think copper is fine. I mean...wouldn't you feel better about doing this if you knew it can't be used for...actually harming someone around here?

[While Colette does want a weapon, she's well aware asking someone else to make something truly effective would be suspicious as all hell and would probably get rejected, so she decided to resign herself to just have a soft copper chakram and call it a day]

There's already enough stuff around here that can be used to hurt people, if someone was really determined to look ... but you're right that it would make me feel better.

[ a somewhat more sober sigh at the reminder. sure is... the kind of situation they're in, isn't it. wow, did the atmosphere get gloomy around here all of a sudden or what. ]

Um. Can you hold your hand out for me? Straight out for a moment at first, then after, um, flex it like how you would if you were holding one.

[ can't say he's done chakrams before, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out, maybe? probably best to make them uniform in shape for aerodynamics, then just... not too big, or not too small. edged on one side, though not too sharp to cut someone just trying to pick them up ... so like the cards used by someone he knows, maybe?

maybe he can make a few different sizes, just in case... ]

Sure. And listen, no matter if things get bad, or if they get better, I promise I'll do all I can to help and protect you. I know that doesn't mean much coming from me-- [She might be the Chosen but she's not all worlds' Chosen, so her promises are not worth their salt] --but I mean it.

[ he's just going to measure her hand and eyeball approximately what a good width and overall size for the chakrams would be, based on her grip and all that. jots down a few measurements and notes in the notebook for good measure. ]
