WEEK TWO
WEEK TWO
23 Villagers
Three people have fallen and a tower has risen. Along with it, some of the restraints on your mind have dispersed and a memory has returned to you - is it precious, is it painful? Is it cherished, is it loathed?
Mercilessly, dawn breaks on another morning. The rooster still calls, and the crops still need tending to. Rise and shine, Puffin Town! It seems like the residents are not the only thing that has chosen to rise, as a few more establishments have opened up for exploration. The sound of moo-ing near the farms may feel especially inviting here - how about making some new additions to your farms, to drown out your loneliness?
There is no festival just yet but if you question the ducks on it, some excited quacking will herald fun things to come later in the week. Some of the ducks will also wave the gift notes from last week; regardless of murder, being kind to your neighbors is still encouraged! Can't let our beautiful town sink into gloom and doom, right?
(( OOC: Murder proposals are due by Tuesday at 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST, for the current week's murder, but feel free to submit for later weeks if you like!
We have also added a page to report your Astera planting - this does not need to have been threaded, we're just taking stock on an OOC level.
Further, the Gift Mechanic has been updated. All turned in threads will now yield a character specific item as a reward! We're only dipping into the random gacha once all personalized rewards have been given out.))

[Mio has with her a half-eaten skewer from the food carts - it tastes a little like Armu, but it's clearly something else she's never had before. Just another strange difference, another unexpected first as she discovers how very different all these worlds can be.
She peels a piece of meat from the skewer and holds it out to Lucifer in the palm of her hand, eyes flicking to Beelzebub briefly for permission to reach out. Her ears move in time with cat's, but it might not be appropriate to point that out?]
no subject
When she looks to him for permission, he gives a nod.]
Go ahead.
no subject
There's plenty to go around... You should have your own meal, too. Should I run and get something for you? I can be quick.
[There's a little twinkle in how Mio says that: She's always been proud of her personal best times.]
no subject
Beelzebub could easily neglect his own needs, but now that she mentions it...that skewer did smell good. His interest is piqued by her glimmer of enthusiasm, too.]
...How quick?
no subject
Mio looks back at the road into town, mapping out the distance from the farm to the food booths. The booths are near the entrace to town, but Corpse Flower has the uncertain honor being far back in the farm plots. Eh. She shrugs casually.]
...Five minutes, long as I can shave a few metri off the main road?
no subject
I'll be counting.
[He doesn't even have a watch.]
no subject
[With a speed that's clearly a mix of training and natural aptitude, Mio bolts off down the path and back toward town.
... (Spongebob voice: five minutes later)
Beelzebub won't be waiting long before she reappears on the horizon, carrying another skewer and a little cup of what seems to be soft-serve ice cream. She's short of breath but nowhere near exhausted.]
I figured you both might like a little dessert.
no subject
…Thanks.
[He’s kind of bewildered by it, but his roommates bewilder him every day.]
You made good time. [He looks over the ice cream.] It didn’t even melt.
no subject
Is that something he can eat?
no subject
…I’m not sure. I’m not as familiar with the animals of Midgard.
[He can recognise them as from Earth, and draw parallels with their care to the more fantastical ones he’s used to but...that’s kind of it.]
no subject
Whatever the case, a little bit probably couldn't harm him, surely? He isn't super fragile? Still, since he's in your care, you should choose. I'm sure your heart will tell you what's best for him. [She can only imagine that Beelzebub would want to do his best for such a small creature dependent on him.]
no subject
…I’ll let him decide.
[Beelzebub holds out the ice cream for Lucifer to inspect, and he gives it a curious sniff. Then, a tentative lick.
It seems to go down well, because he goes back for more, until Beelzebub has to pull it away from him.]
I worry you’ve caused him to develop a new craving.
no subject
Now, wait a moment; I couldn't have known! [She protests weakly, its efficacy even more eroded by the little laugh she lets out watching the cat try to struggle in Beelzebub's overfull arms. Now it really does seem like he's holding on to a lot to try and juggle at once.]
Maybe some knowledge is better left unlearned. He'll probably never forget it, at any rate.
no subject
[Though it's hard to tell with him, this is all good-natured fun.]
You've set me up to be a cruel master.
no subject
[And depending on how squirmy the little guy is, maybe he'll manage to get a little more of it provided he can be a good enough escape artist. After all, Beelzebub's hands are very full.]
Will you be very strict with him?
