TRIAL ONE
TRIAL
Once the various investigations have concluded, and the majority of the evidence has been dropped off with Makima and the ducks -- said ducks will scatter to start shepherding any travelers along to JojaMart, for some reason! Those already at JojaMart have a little less walking to do. Meantime, Makima has loaded the evidence onto the daycare wagon -- carefully packaged, because who wants a spill here -- and driven it off after the ducks.
There is, in fact, a back entrance to the JojaMart -- almost like a loading bay, but once it's opened and the wagon has been driven in, you can see that there's a small podium there along with a number of chairs and small tables. It looks like extra pieces used in either the Community Center or other areas around town may be stored here. The ceiling is tall and it's roomy, there's a scant few windows, but the white LED ceiling lighting and rather bare interior is only livened up by some larger spare whiteboards, extra shelving containing tools and knickknacks and a plant or two.
Once everyone is in -- Adela, Makima, a number of assistant ducks and the current inhabitants of the village -- the loading bay door is tugged closed by some enterprising assistants. There's a small door that probably leads into the front of JojaMart, but that's it. One of the ducks sets about serving tea in the slightly gloomy atmosphere.
You're welcome to examine the evidence in the wagon, discuss amongst yourselves, and figure out whodunnit in these first murders.
(( OOC: Welcome to your first trial! You'll have 7 hours (until 8 PM EST/5 PM PST) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. As this is scapegoat style, a correct vote is not necessary. Please remember to vote unless otherwise discussed with the mods, as that is our AC for this game. ))

We were unfortunately trapped together and couldn't leave.

Though if Sampo were to write that note, would this be his favorite place or somebody else's?

[ She holds them up. ]
Doesn't mean that's their favorite spot, though.

[ he'll take those and spread them out on the table, quickly glancing at them. ]
I guess... 2B's profile says "fishing" outright, while Enkidu, Dongrang, Beelzebub say "animals", Mr. Healy's has, uh...fish tanks, specifically, and then a few others have, um...specific animals.

As for whether it's his or someone else's favorite place...I'm not entirely sure. It could be someone else's, if he was the personable type who got to know people relatively quick enough to get that information.
Or, it could be his favorite place, and he more or less indicated as such in some manner to the person he was inviting.

We were all apparently trapped in various places, right? [He says "apparently" because this is very recent news to him.] I wonder when that lifted? A lot of what happened really hinges on the freedom to move around the town.

I'm terrible at sleeping in general so finding myself waking up at the crack of dawn was weird to say the least, I haven't done that since Cloud Recesses and that was years ago.

It's much the same for me. I... don't tend to sleep well, so having fallen asleep so quickly - and then having remained that way - was decidedly unusual.

Something knocked us out, then...and well enough to keep us asleep. Aside from whoever ended up becoming involved in this case.

One more thing.
Both of us heard a strange sound that was a hum that gave a strange amount of pressure which caused a headache. It happened when we tried to break out and removed the door, and ran into a barrier.

[He jerks a thumb at Erika. It wasn't a bad plan but also their window is now broken...]

Sounds like we've got some mystery technology on our hands.
[Or magic. But the line between technology and magic is so blurred in Project Moon lore so same diff.]

If they had planned to commit a murder, wouldn't it have made more sense for them to have returned to the farm with the rest of us so that we would have known they were there before we all fell asleep?
