After the news from the town hall, Puffin Town might not seem as tranquil as before—if it ever did. But the sun dawns, and the rooster crows on a new week, that seems peaceful enough, for now. There's farming to be done for those who don't want to subsist off the vast canned food selection at Joja Mart, or you could take up your hand fishing or even venturing into the mines.

If you want to lay around on the grass taking count of the shapes in the clouds no one will stop you, an eager duck might even stop by to give you a pillow; but the cost of the harvest looms overhead, even if you choose not to see it.

And so too does: confetti? Monday, at precisely noon, everyone will find themselves showered with confetti from seemingly nowhere. The culprit largely seems to be the ducks, but if you're somewhere closed off like bathroom, there's no obvious instigator in sight. Though if you squint real hard, you might see the wisps of something? It's hard to see through all the colorful paper, though. Regardless, you'll soon find yourself accosted by a duck with a flyer, printed and worn:

Festival!

The Colors You Want to See Festival!
Do you find the walls of your cottage drab? Do you want to add a special touch to make your home YOURS? Stop by the general store this week and pick up some art supplies to decorate your life! NOTE: Puffin town does not take responsibility for any damage incurred during the decorating process. Participation will be rewarded with an item from the community stockpile! Please see the event organizer in the community center to submit your polaroid photograph of your entry. (Polaroids are available at the general store.)

Maybe calling it a festival is a stretch, but it's certainly a group activity nonetheless. And hey, there's even prizes! The duck, ever eager, presses another paper into your hand, though this one is handwritten, in a cursive elegant hand.

Gift Giving

Someone told me that receiving a gift is a reward in itself. But if you share with others, you deserve something tangible, don't you? Try it, you might be surprised at what you receive.

[Colette was on one of the roads when she got bumped off by Amy. RIP Colette, first victim, as was forecast by Nick.

Or not, she got bumped into, she's still alive.

The bump makes Colette lose her balance, falling backwards. Nothing that hasn't happened to her before, she does tend to fall down a lot! So although her face is a tad red from the embarrassment, she stands up, dusting herself off]

Ah, sorry! I didn't mean to get in your way. You didn't drop anything, did you?

[Colette got bumped into and she fell and all, yet she's the one apologizing and making sure she did't make a mess from that big basket. Typical]

[ Amy just about jumps out of her skin. ]

I-I'm so sorry - !

[ Amy had started to put her basket down to help Colette up, but Colette is already dusting herself off. Life is a nightmare. This place just keeps getting worse. How did she lose track of things in a place as horrible as this... ]

Are you okay?

I'm fine! It was just a little tumble! [It's hard not to see Amy got startled. Shaking her hands, she tries to makes this seem even more unimportant, not wanting to cause discomfort] Besides! I wasn't looking where I was going, so--hey, come on, let me take you to your farm!

[Amy isn't a lost puppy, Colette]

[ Well, look at her. She’s a little bit of a lost puppy. This is fair. ]

[ She’s thinking she should be offering to take Colette to her farm instead, but, it’s not like she’s going to turn down the offer. ]

[Maybe it's Colette trying to calm Amy down, or may it's her natural friendliness, but she smiles and introduces herself:]

By the way, I'm Colette! It's nice to meet you. I promise I won't be tumbling all over the roads every time we talk!

We're neighbors! [Colette, for one, Jade Vine and Chocolate Cosmos have another farm in middle of them, and also everyone is clustered together, of course you're neighbors] Have you ever lived in a village like this one?

No... Bibi and I are from a place much bigger.

A city? [She immediately imagines Palmacosta: Very nautical, big, with potions. And by potions we mean wine, it just is the game calls it potions, at least in the Spanish version] How is it like? I haven't ever been in one!
