TRIAL TWO
TRIAL
Once again, the investigations conclude -- though they're more ponderous this time, burdened by the number and knowledge of additional deaths, and the awareness that there's limited means of dealing with them -- and once again the ducks gather everyone at the back of the JojaMart along with Makima's wagon, Adela's quiet, the pile of evidence.
Everyone trundles into the loading bay, which isn't all that much livelier than before, penned in by stacks of shelves and crating; but at least it's functional, overly well-lit and there's tea to while away the time discussing murders and mayhem.
As the loading bay door slides closed, you're left with a wagonful of evidence, a double handful of murders and the knowledge that time is ticking down -- for everyone.
(( OOC: Welcome to trial: the sequel! You'll have 7 hours (until 8 PM EST/5 PM PST) to vote one (1) person guilty of murder. As this is scapegoat style, a correct vote is not necessary. Please remember to vote unless otherwise discussed with the mods, as that is our AC for this game. ))
RESULTS
Makima has been glancing back and forth as the investigation results and the decisions started coming in, a touch thoughtful but otherwise as inscrutable as the last time they got to this point. The tally is just as easy and smooth, pieces of paper piling up to bury someone.
She'll stand for this part, still, nodding as things wind down once the deadline passes.]
Your votes have been tallied. You've voted for Beelzebub as the guilty party, but votes were also cast for Kuki, Mio and White. I'm glad to see we've all cast valid votes this time around, despite the difficult decision you've arrived at.
[She'll gesture to Beelzebub, ceding the floor if he wishes.]
Do you have any final words, Beelzebub?
[OOC: Please let Beelzebub comment before replying. Thank you everyone ~]

At least it'll all be over soon.
He says nothing, offers nothing. After all, what else is left to say?]

[Barely above a whisper. Wanting to badly to throw away something Noah will never know — no, something she will never know — is more than a waste. It's insanity.
Noah liked Beelzebub, but that doesn't matter now. He turns away from the man before this feeling inside of him festers and worsens.]

she doesn't say anything, but the look of concern on her face is clear. ]

She says nothing to anyone and makes her way out of JojaMart. Quietly. ]

[She still sounds like a teacher giving advice in a completely incongruous situation, but a benevolent one, at least. She doesn't wait on Beelzebub's answer, instead pulling together all the ducks and evidence and then gesturing for him to get into the wagon for the rest of his sentencing.
And to everyone else:]
You know where to find the prisoners in the sewers now. Feel free to visit him until tomorrow.
[The door to the loading bay rolls open once everything is on the wagon, and off to the sewers they go once again. But perhaps Beelzebub is more familiar with those than most of the town, anyway.]
