Once again, the investigations conclude -- though they're more ponderous this time, burdened by the number and knowledge of additional deaths, and the awareness that there's limited means of dealing with them -- and once again the ducks gather everyone at the back of the JojaMart along with Makima's wagon, Adela's quiet, the pile of evidence.

Everyone trundles into the loading bay, which isn't all that much livelier than before, penned in by stacks of shelves and crating; but at least it's functional, overly well-lit and there's tea to while away the time discussing murders and mayhem.

As the loading bay door slides closed, you're left with a wagonful of evidence, a double handful of murders and the knowledge that time is ticking down -- for everyone.

...Yeah. I thought...we were working together, you know, on equipping ourselves. So it was my fault for letting my guard down. I didn't -- I didn't want to believe he'd hurt me.

How'd you carry him?

Yeah. I did.

[ She pauses at Mio's question, though. ]

Growth stuff. I hauled him over my shoulder. Wasn't easy, but I managed to get to the Livestock area and lay him down.

[moonblades]

So it was as we suspected. [She doesn't look particularly happy for a theory to be proven right.]

We were at the spa last night, looking at the stars. I didn't even think twice.

[hyperbloom]

It's alright. I didn't, either.

[ ... ]

But like us, he had people he wanted to go back to. We can't change the past...but you can move forward.

[ Not us. She may not see another day after tomorrow. ]

For whatever it's worth...I appreciate the time we got to share together, Mio.

[moonblades]

[That squeezes a few hot tears from the corners of her eyes.]

I did, too...! I won't stop walking forward, especially not if I'm carrying what you've entrusted to me.

[ Oh...congrats, Mio, that gets the dam to break for Shinobu, too. Just a little, though. She hates crying, but there are a few tears that pour from her eyes. ]
