Once again, the investigations conclude -- though they're more ponderous this time, burdened by the number and knowledge of additional deaths, and the awareness that there's limited means of dealing with them -- and once again the ducks gather everyone at the back of the JojaMart along with Makima's wagon, Adela's quiet, the pile of evidence.

Everyone trundles into the loading bay, which isn't all that much livelier than before, penned in by stacks of shelves and crating; but at least it's functional, overly well-lit and there's tea to while away the time discussing murders and mayhem.

As the loading bay door slides closed, you're left with a wagonful of evidence, a double handful of murders and the knowledge that time is ticking down -- for everyone.

So, someone good with animals? Because that donkey sure as hell wasn't listening to me when I tried to get it to help me transport stuff earlier this week.

... Dunno about cows, though.

Someone would need to know how to handle them well, I agree. Leading a cow isn't easy, I'm sure.

You need a lot of patience to lead one. They can be very stubborn; I have seen so many struggle with that before!

I think a cow would have left prints somewhere along the way. If there were none maybe a cow wasn't involved?

I didn't check, to be honest... If there were no prints or wheel tracks, then maybe he really was carried all the way over there.

That'd narrow it down significantly if we can prove it. How many of us can actually carry 135 pounds without help? I know I would have needed wheels or ended up dragging him.

So would I. While I can carry something heavy for a short distance... down the stairs is another obstacle itself.

The stairs would be an obstacle for even our strongest.

I never did test if the growth serums caused a proportional strength increase, so there may be something to that theory.

But just to be sure, did you find anything that could match that knot on Dongrang's head?

I looked for weapons, but nothing jumped out at me as weapon-shaped. Though I was mostly looking for a weapon that could cause a significant amount of blood loss rather than a knot.

What about the pommel of a weapon?

Nothing like that stood out to me.

It's definitely a lot to carry, especially that far.

I could manage it for a short distance as well, but not down that entire flight of stairs without some sort of assistance.

What if we try to test that somehow? If we get something heavy enough, maybe we can see how it goes?

Um... [ he is flipping through the conveniently printed flyers ] Enkidu, Wei Wuxian, and Azure, I think, are the closest to how much Dongrang weighs? No exact matches, but.

Oh hey! Someone mentioned something about a growth potion or whatever. They could have drank some of that to get bigger, right?

... Yeah. Seems almost impossible to lug a body that far without some equipment otherwise.

I agree. And it would add a bit of context to the amount of liquid we found there.

Green ingredients create growth effects. I didn't find anything green in the lab, though.

Walter-san said that the brown liquid could have had a chance of causing several different effects. What if the one that it ended up having was growth?

... green. You'd need green to make something grow, according to the lab books here.

[ has anyone seen green anywhere or are people thinking something else was mixed in with the originally green potion to make it brown and muddy afterwards. ]
