WEEK TWO

23 Villagers

Three people have fallen and a tower has risen. Along with it, some of the restraints on your mind have dispersed and a memory has returned to you - is it precious, is it painful? Is it cherished, is it loathed?

Mercilessly, dawn breaks on another morning. The rooster still calls, and the crops still need tending to. Rise and shine, Puffin Town! It seems like the residents are not the only thing that has chosen to rise, as a few more establishments have opened up for exploration. The sound of moo-ing near the farms may feel especially inviting here - how about making some new additions to your farms, to drown out your loneliness?

There is no festival just yet but if you question the ducks on it, some excited quacking will herald fun things to come later in the week. Some of the ducks will also wave the gift notes from last week; regardless of murder, being kind to your neighbors is still encouraged! Can't let our beautiful town sink into gloom and doom, right?

(( OOC: Murder proposals are due by Tuesday at 4 PM EST / 1 PM PST, for the current week's murder, but feel free to submit for later weeks if you like!

We have also added a page to report your Astera planting - this does not need to have been threaded, we're just taking stock on an OOC level.

Further, the Gift Mechanic has been updated. All turned in threads will now yield a character specific item as a reward! We're only dipping into the random gacha once all personalized rewards have been given out.))

It depends on the stories, I guess! I can think of a few where I come from that are all true even though I'm sure it'd be hard to believe for almost anybody here.

[In fantasy worlds it really feels as if all tales are true no matter what they are. Or half-true]

For what it's worth, it sounds like that isn't unique to you.

[A few of them might have forgotten entire people, their most precious ones dangling just out of reach, but just as many or more have just remembered something incredibly awful.

Either way, it's painful for most of them, without a doubt.]

I found it when the judging of the photos for the contest happened? I think it might have been some sort of prize from that.

It's the town I live in, to the west of the world of Sylvarant. It's just a little place, like this town, but without the ducks.

[And also far less pleasant now, than she has memories. Tales of Symphonia sure began with things going rough for the village.

When Colette tries to imitate, at first the castle holds the form, before half of it erodes. Classic beginner blunder]

But okay, right. Sand castles and the nature of things. He's not entirely sure why Enkidu's making that connection now, but it seems like the past weekend has gotten people into a thoughtful mood, for better or worse.]

I suppose there are. ...And? Surely there's more to it than that?

[That people and other living things return to the earth may be an inviolable truth, but it certainly isn't the first thought that comes to his mind when Enkidu mentions things made from dirt or sand.]

It probably was lack of practice...I can fight but I rely on magic and throwing, not really in anything direct.

Which just begs the question of why they withheld them in the first place. It might be to get the more socially inclined of you to bond first before people start dying.

You wear your fear and lack of self confidence completely on your sleeve. It's a weakness you're practically begging someone to take advantage of, especially in a scenario where your life is at risk.

You're definitely weak, but I did mean what I said earlier. Everyone else is weak too - in lots of little ways that you probably just can't see - or if you do see, you're too scared to act on. The best thing you can do is figure out ways to hide your own weakness or turn it into a strength. Make people underestimate you.

[Detective gives most useless advice? Be more confident? She does pause, putting her hand to her chin as she thinks of other things before reluctantly saying...]

Also you aren't actually doing either Bibi or yourself any favours with your current approach to your relationship. Take that for what you will.
