Intro

You blink awake to the gently slanting sunbeams across the ceiling slats -- and wherever you came from, these are not your artisan ceiling slats and these are not your warmly angled sunbeams. Everything is soft and quiet; perhaps too quiet, in this new bed surrounded by other beds. You can hear a multitude of other people breathing.

Did you have roommates before? You do now.

Welcome! You've woken up with your new farmsteading mates in the cottagecore(!) community of Puffin Town. Whatever you were wearing last, you're wearing pajamas now, and whatever you were doing last... well, it seems a little bit fuzzy in the light of this day you didn't ask for. No earthly possessions seem to have come with you, though if you think real hard you might feel as though—Is that a rooster??

(There's a letter for each cottage, by the way, written in elegant fluid cursive on staid office letterhead, smelling faintly and pleasantly of flowers. It says: Welcome to Puffin Town. Make yourself at home; this will be it for the foreseeable future. A town meeting with refreshments will be held tomorrow at 1500. All you need to bring is yourself.) For now, you've an entire town to explore: nothing else seems to live here except for some strangely gregarious staff in the form of ducks, and the local wildlife of the cutely appointed streets and shores.
